Exploring Baamboozle | Online Games for All Ages and Levels

We’re taking a look at the amazing website for Baamboozle that lets you create games for both online and in-person play, suitable for all ages and skill levels. It might sound too good to be true, but it’s not! Let’s dive in and see what it has to offer.

Baamboozle’s Website

Alright, let’s check out Baamboozle’s website right now. Not the old Baamboozle that used to show when I was a kid, but the new one we’re interested in.

Once we get to the website, we can join for free just by clicking up here in the top right-hand corner. Easy, right? Let’s take a quick look at the pricing; you can use it for free, which is great! But I’ll show you the differences between the free and paid versions.

Pricing

For just $3.99 per month, the paid version is pretty cheap compared to other gaming platforms for the classroom. Keep that in mind while we continue exploring Baamboozle.

Features of Baamboozle

At the top, you have various options:

  • My Library: Here, you can find all your games, folders, likes, and followers
  • Games: This section allows you to search for content created by users, including teachers like you and me
  • News: Stay updated with all the new features on Baamboozle. They’re constantly adding cool stuff!
  • Blog: The blog is full of ideas on how to use Baamboozle effectively in the classroom

Game Section

When we go to the “Games” section, we see games, folders, likes, and following. You can view all the games you have for your classes in the “Games” section. Note that “Folders” is a premium feature, so if you want to collect games into different folders, you’ll need the paid version. “Likes” is for favoriting games you’re interested in, and “Following” lets you follow people who regularly create Baamboozle games, so you can get more content.

Search Function

The search function on the left-hand side allows you to find games using specific terms like grammar, vocabulary, or topic keywords. It’s a useful feature to quickly find the games you need.

Playing Games

Each game in the “Games” section has a short description and an image representing it. You can see the number of questions, whether it has images, and if it’s a featured game. The play count also indicates how reliable a game is. Clicking on a game, you can explore different options for playing, depending on whether you have the free or premium version.

Or even take a look at Educandy which is perfect for kids!

Creating Your Own Game

You can make your own game by going to “My Games” and clicking on the plus sign. Give it a title and description, choose the format (question and answer or question and multiple-choice), add images, and set the points for each question. Save your questions, and your game will be added to your library.

New Game Modes

Recently, Baamboozle introduced four new game modes: Memory, Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect 4, and Bingo. They offer a refreshing twist to the traditional games and add more fun to the learning experience. These games are great for kids, if you teach children, don’t miss my post on how to teach English to kids right here.

Baamboozle is an amazing platform that offers a wide range of games suitable for all age groups and language levels. Whether you’re teaching in a classroom or conducting online lessons, Baamboozle’s versatility and user-friendly interface make it a fantastic tool for educators.
